Las Vegas-area water agencies formed the Southern Nevada Water Authority (SNWA) in 1991 to address Southern Nevada's unique water needs on a regional basis. The SNWA provides high-quality drinking water to more than 2 million Southern Nevada residents and 40 million annual visitors, while also overseeing the region’s water quality initiatives and award-winning water conservation programs. As a not-for-profit water agency, the SNWA is committed to managing the region's water resources and developing solutions that will ensure adequate future water supplies for the Las Vegas Valley.
SNWA is comprised of seven water and wastewater agencies that each provide an elected representative to serve on the agency’s board of directors. SNWA member agencies include the Big Bend Water District, City of Boulder, City of Henderson, City of Las Vegas, City of North Las Vegas, Clark County Water Reclamation District and Las Vegas Valley Water District.
