Western Urban Water Coalition

Leaders of several western U.S. municipal water suppliers created the Western Urban Water Coalition (WUWC) in June 1992 to address the West’s unique water issues for the region’s large cities.

Faced with population growth, environmental demands and shrinking water supplies, these visionary leaders formed an alliance that is dedicated to new and creative approaches to meet future water demands in the West.  Over its history, the WUWC has been a leader on policy issues at the federal level to ensure the continued availability of high quality water supplies to urban customers in a manner that is consistent with conservation and environmental goals and requirements.

WUWC member agencies serve more than 35 million customers in the West’s largest metropolitan areas.
